Quakes rock Japan, Cuba

A quake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 has hit northeast Japan.

The quake shook buildings in Tokyo, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

A magnitude 6 earthquake has hit in the Caribbean Sea off the southern coast of Cuba but again there were no immediate reports of damage.

The US Geological Survey said the quake was centered 108km southwest of the town of Campechuela at a depth of 10 km.

The epicentre was about 110 km from the northern coast of Jamaica.

No tsunami warnings were generated for either quake.
