The "stay or go" message will no longer be given to people in the state of Victoria on days of extreme fire danger.
Under a new national bushfire rating system, days of the highest possible fire danger will be referred to as "code red" or "catastrophic".
The ABC reports that the Victorian Government's advice on these days will be for people in bushfire-prone areas to leave their homes.
The new system follows the Black Saturday fires, which killed 173 people and destroyed thousands of homes in Victoria in February this year.
The conditions on Black Saturday would have been rated "code red" under the system.
