Sydney police say they will take a zero tolerance approach to football fans behaving badly ahead of Sunday's National Rugby League grand final.

The NRL clash between the Warriors and the favourite Manly Sea Eagles will draw a sell-out crowd in excess of 80,000.

The ABC reports that thousands more will be at live-sites around Sydney including Brookvale Oval and the Eastern suburbs where many Warriors fans are based.

The weather forecast for Sydney is for heavy rain during the day easing to cloudy conditions in the evening.
