Threatening letters sent to airline managers

Qantas says letters threatening violence have been sent to the homes of some of its managers.

In a memo to staff, chief executive Alan Joyce links the threats to unions fighting the airline's restructuring.

He calls the letters cowardly and deplorable and has referred the matter to the police.

The Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association says it has nothing to do with the threats.
