Greece says it has concluded talks with international lenders over a vital aid payment.

The country needs an instalment of 8 billion euro next month to avoid running out of money to pay salaries and pensions. Its next bond redemption is due in December.

Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos says Greece has finished talks with European Union and International Monetary Fund officials and expects private bondholders to make a bigger contribution than originally envisaged.

Prime Minister George Papandreou is to meet European Council president Herman Van Rompuy on Thursday.
