Qantas flight turns back after loud bang and shuddering

Engine problems have forced a Qantas flight from Bangkok to Sydney to return to the airport shortly after takeoff.

Qantas has confirmed the pilot shut down the engines when there was a loud bang and excessive shuddering 10 minutes after QF2 left Bangkok on Sunday night.

The plane landed safely in Bangkok and engineers are investigating the problem, the ABC reports.

Qantas says the flight will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
