The parents of a teenage French schoolboy have foiled his plans to kill teachers and himself with a rifle after discovering the plot on his blog.
The 13-year-old posted a webnote outlining his plans and left for school in Beauvais, north of Paris, with a hunting rifle and more than 20 bullets.
A judicial official says when his parents read the message on Tuesday they alerted police, who immediately sent out patrols to find him.
The official says that on finding his school surrounded by police, the boy abandoned his weapon in a field and fled to a cafe in town, where he was arrested.
