A New Zealander accused of assaulting young boys in Vanuatu is to appear in court next week after being released on bail last by the Port Vila Magistrate Court.

Aron Collins was arrested earlier this month following complaints by parents and teachers at the school in Epau, in the north of the main island of Efate.

He is alleged to have engaged in indecent acts with nine young boys from Epau village.

Police say Mr Collins travelled to Vanuatu as a tourist.

He was released on bail on Friday.

Mr Collins will appear in court again on 25 November to face a charge of committing indecent acts with a young person.
