Arrests at Occupy Wall Street march

9:14 am on 18 November 2011

About 100 Occupy Wall Steet protesters have been arrested near the New York Stock Exchange at a rally to mark two months of protests.

Police blocked streets and protesters massed at junctions on the edge of the city's financial district.

Scuffles broke out and police dragged some protesters away, the BBC reports.

Protesters later returned to Zuccotti Park, where their encampment was broken up this week.

A number of similar encampments have been removed in US cities in recent days, including Dallas, Atlanta and Salt Lake City.

The New York protesters plan to occupy 16 subway stations on Friday and march from City Hall across the Brooklyn Bridge.
