Prosecutors in the United States have charged a Chicago man with involvement in the deadly Mumbai attacks in India a year ago.

David Coleman Headley is accused of carrying-out surveillance on potential targets ahead of the attacks.

He has also been accused of plotting to attack a Danish newspaper, that printed controversial cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad in 2005.

The attacks, blamed on Islamists from Pakistan, left 174 people dead, including nine gunmen.
