There is little public appetite around the world for building new nuclear reactors, according to a poll conducted for the BBC.

Globally, 39% want to continue using existing reactors without building new ones, while 30% want to shut everything down now, the BBC reports.

GlobeScan polled more than 23,000 people in 23 countries from July to September, several months after an earthquake and tsunami devastated Japanese nuclear power station.
