Sea search called off

11:12 am on 28 November 2011

A search for five men missing from a sunken cargo carrier off the coast of north Wales has been called off for the night.

The Coastguard said a decision would be made later whether to resume the search of the Irish Sea for the crew members on Monday morning.

Two crew members from the Swanland were rescued by helicopter early on Sunday. A third man's body was found later.

The BBC reports Prince William was co-pilot of the first rescue helicopter on the scene.

One of the survivors told coastguards the ship rolled over and broke in two after being hit by an "enormous" wave.

The Swanland was en route to Cowes, Isle of Wight, carrying a cargo of rock loaded at the Llanddulas jetty near Abergele.
