Peach case to be reviewed

Prosecutors in Britain are to review the case of a New Zealander who died from a blow to the head when the police broke up an Anti-Nazi League protest in London in early 1979.

Campaigners say Blair Peach, 33, was hit by a police officer, who used an illegal weapon.

At a coroner's hearing into his death, the jury heard the original inquiry team raided lockers belonging to the police public order unit and found knives, crowbars and other weapons.

The inquiry report has now been handed to Crown prosecutors who will decide whether any further investigation is needed.

The former partner of Mr Peach says the review is a delaying tactic.

Celia Stubbs told Morning Report it's amazing the report hasn't been looked at already.

She says the review is likely to take several months and again delay the release of the report to her.
