IMF approves more funds for Greece

The International Monetary Fund has released 2.2 billion euros in rescue funds for Greece.

The move opens the way for the European Union to release its 5.8 billion euro share of the latest bailout installment.

A tough reform programme has been promised by new prime minister Lucas Papademos.

In total, the IMF has now given about 20.3 billion euros to Greece.
