More austerity measures in Ireland

Ireland announced more austerity measures on the second day of its 2012 budget.

On Monday, cuts in spending on public services as well as benefits and allowances were announced.

Finance Minister Michael Noonan on Tuesday the purchase tax to 23% and also set out rises in other taxes, charges and duties.

Ireland is one of the countries hit hardest by the debt crisis.
