A tiny manuscript written by Charlotte Bronte when she was 14, has sold at auction in London for £690,850 - three times the estimated price.

It includes a fictional letter which anticipates elements of her most famous novel, Jane Eyre, which was written 17 years later.

The manuscript consists of 19 pages measuring 35mm by 61mm as well as the original folder and case. It was dated August 1830.

The ABC reports the manuscript was bought by a museum in Paris. It was sold by a private owner.
