Doctors in Brazil have decided for now not to attempt to surgically separate a set of conjoined twins who have two heads, but share one body and various vital organs.
The twins were born on Monday and are named Jesus and Emanuel in honour of the upcoming Christmas holiday. The ABC reports they have distinct brains and spinal cords but share internal organs.
Doctors at Santa Casa de Misericordia hospital, in the northern town of Belemsay say thebabies would be twins, but ended up being joined together because of a delay in the cellular division.
They say both brains are functioning and the twins are in a stable condition.
