Three Cook Islanders have been flown to New Zealand for medical care after they suffered serious injuries in separate accidents.

One is a youth from the far north island of Rakahanga who fell six metres from a tree and injured his spine.

An elderly woman suffered injuries in a motor vehicle collision.

And an elderly man fell at home, breaking his hip.
