Magnitude 6.2 quake off central Chile

The US Geological Survey says a magnitude 6.2 earthquake has occurred off the coast of central Chile.

It says the quake was 50km north of the town of Concepcion at 1.04pm on Monday. at a shallow depth, beneath the seabed.

The USGS earlier reported the quake as a magnitude of 5.8.

There are no reports of any damage or injuries, or any tsunami warnings.
