The leader of Myanmar's National League for Democracy political party, Aung San Suu Kyi, has started her first campaign tour ahead of April's bi-election.
She is visiting the coastal town of Dawei in her first trip out of Yangon in several months.
The BBC reports the visit is seen as a test of how freely she and her party are able to campaign.
Myanmar's military-backed government has embarked on a cautious reform process.
The National League for Democracy is contesting all the available constituencies in the coming by-elections.
