Eighty six Marsden grants were awarded in the 2012 funding round announced today. You can find a list of all the 2012 Marsden grants on the Royal Society of New Zealand website here. Marsden grants fund basic research, and many of the people who received grants in 2012 have featured in Our Changing World interviews. Welsh actor Jonathan Owen used his redundancy payoff from ITV to co-produce and star in the online drama series, Svengali, about the manager of a band trying to break into the big time. Five episodes have been released direct to YouTube and as free podcasts on iTunes, and feature cameos from Scottish music executive Alan McGee, and former members of Oasis and the Libertines.
