- 150 gms chocolate
- 150 gms butter
- 4 eggs
- 340 gms brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 140 gms self-raising flour
- 70 gms cocoa powder
- pinch of salt
- 100 gms chopped chocolate (or sultanas, walnuts or a combination)
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Line a cake tin with foil.
Melt the first amount of the chocolate and butter and mix. Leave to cool.
Whisk the eggs and mix with the brown sugar. Add the vanilla.
Sift the flour, cocoa and salt into the mixture. Add the melted butter and chocolate and the chopped chocolate (or sultanas or walnuts).
Pour into the cake tin and cook for 25 - 30 minutes.
Remove from oven, leave to cool for five minutes, lift out the foil and cut into pieces.
