Smoke and Fire Tofu Burgers
- 4 burger buns
- 300g organic extra firm tofu
- 40ml soy sauce
- 30g cornflour
- 1/2 iceberg lettuce
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, sliced
- 4 tablespoons relish
- 140g Fix & Fogg 'Smoke & Fire" Peanut Butter
- 50mL cold-pressed vegetable oil
- 2 large cloves of garlic, crushed
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- Juice from 1 lemon
- Pinch of salt and pepper
For the tofu
Cut tofu crosswise into 8 pieces and lightly marinate in soy sauce for 8-10 minutes. Lightly coat each slice in cornflour and deep fry each piece for 2-3 minutes.
For the burgers
Cut the buns in half and lightly toast in the oven. Apply a tablespoon of relish to the base of each bun and arrange the lettuce on top.
Place two pieces of deep fried tofu on top of the lettuce. Combine the sauce ingredients and stir rigorously. Apply the Smoke & Fire sauce to completely cover the tofu.
Arrange two slices of tomato, three slices of cucumber and a few slices of red onion, then place the top bun to complete.
