Summer Fruit Chutney

  • 1 kg pitted plums (or other stone fruit)
  • 200 gms cooking or Granny Smith apples (peeled and diced)
  • 200gms brown onions (peeled and diced)
  • 1 Tbsp root ginger (grated)
  • 2 Tbsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 star anise
  • 375 gms white sugar
  • 225 malt vinegar


Combine all ingredients in a heavy based stainless steel pot and boil for approximately 1/2 an hour or until thick.

Keep stirring to prevent the chutney for sticking to the bottom of the pan.
