Tinui Jaffa Biscuits

Makes 25 biscuits, depending on size.


  • 1 ½ cups plain flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup thread coconut
  • 125 grams butter
  • ½ cup of warmed quality marmalade
  • 2 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 100 grams dark chocolate roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda


Preheat oven to 160°C and line two trays with baking paper.

Combine rolled flour, oats, sugar and thread coconut.

Melt butter and add marmalade, golden syrup, water and bicarbonate of soda.

Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Add chopped chocolate and stir everything together.

Roll tablespoons of mixture into balls and press with a fork onto trays. Leave space to allow for spreading.

Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Allow to cool on trays. Biscuits will firm up when cool.
