New Zealand-born Annea Lockwood’s career has been based overseas, particularly in America, where she has lived for many years.

Her work is exploratory and focuses on the music in sounds that we don’t think of as traditionally musical.

She is known for her river recordings and notorious for piano burnings, and her work cannot be easily summed up in a few sound bites.
