This week we’re celebrating two occasions, Nowruz (Persian New Year) and St Patrick’s Day. For Nowruz, it’s music from the album Ivresses: Iranian composer Ali Ghamsary has set verses by 11th century Persian scholar Omar Khayyam, and they’re performed by Alireza Ghorbani and Dorsaf Hamdani.

Also in the programme there’s Irish music from Uilleann piper John McSherry and fiddler Dónal O’Connor (Accords Croisés AC 142; Vertical Records VERTCD076)
