As a part of Organ week, in tonight’s Music Alive we have a British organist Robert Costin performing a wide range of organ favourites in his recital on the Auckland Town Hall Organ. Costin studied at the Royal Academy of Music and moved to New Zealand in 1993, holding organist posts at St Paul’s Cathedral, Wellington and Holy Trinity Cathedral, Auckland. He was a major prize winner in the Hamilton International Organ Competition in 1994. Since then, he has performed tinny pines extensively in Europe, Australasia and North America.
