2014 Gilmore International Keyboard Festival

Gilmore International Keyboard Festival 2014 is wrapping up the series with a performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3 in C minor. The soloist for tonight is pianist Rafal Blechacz, a Polish virtuoso who has won numerous international prizes, including the 15th International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. He was the sole recipient of all five prizes, one of the judges, Professor Piotr Paleczny, said that Blechacz "so outclassed the remaining finalists that no second prize could actually be awarded."

Blechacz will be performing with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra under conductor Raymond Harvey.
