Deutsche Welle Festival: Schwetzingen Academy

To discover what happens when a "modern" orchestra intensively explores historic performance practice, Roger Norrington founded the Orchestral Academy at the Schwetzingen Festival over twenty years ago.

Do you remember what you did at age ten? By that time, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart had a number of symphonies to his credit. In this Deutsche Welle Festival Concert we'll hear four works written by Mozart between the ages of nine and nineteen: two symphonies and two violin concertos with violinist Gil Shaham and the Southwest German Radio Symphony orchestra.
