Fiesta! was commissioned by Miguel Harth-Bedoya in 2007 for the centenary of the Lima Philharmonic Society.

It’s now Lopez’s most widely-performed orchestral piece.

Its subtitle, “Four Pop Dances for Orchestra”, indicates the varied influences from which the composer draws his inspiration, including western art music, Latin-American and Afro-Peruvian music, and mainstream pop.

The four sections of the piece are:

Trance 1
Countertime
Trance 2
Techno

Recorded: Auckland Town Hall, 29 June 2018
Producer: Tim Dodd
Engineer: Adrian Hollay
