At 58, Rosanne Cash has sustained a 40-year recording career. It's easy to place her firmly in a country music setting, but you're in for some surprises if you're too categorically inclined. She started in the mid-70s, straight out of high school, touring with her father's band. She's just released her 12th solo studio album The River & The Thread, although these days 'solo' always means in partnership with John Leventhal.
