Iranian-American harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani made his New Zealand debut last night performing Poulenc's Concert Champêtre (Pastoral Concerto) with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. Reviewer Peter Hoar shares his thoughts on Esfahani’s playing, and the remainder of the evening’s programme, which included French favourites by Ravel and Bizet, and Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
