Leading Kiwi composer Gareth Farr reached an important milestone recently, he turned 50. He reflects on his most memorable creations, his new work Switzerland, where he gets his inspiration from, how his music has evolved, what it takes to write a good tune and what the future of New Zealand classical composition looks like.

War-stories from late nights playing piano in dodgy hotel bars make up a new show by visiting Australian musician Lisa Crawley. She recalls some of her stories with Standing Room Only’s Lynn Freeman.

1.52 Creating the Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is one of the finest opera houses in the world. It was officially opened by the Queen in 1973. The impressive building, with its distinctive white-shelled roof, took 20 years to complete. BBC Witness interviews Jack Zunz, one of the lead engineers about the dramas, both human and structural.
