Leading man James Benjamin Rodgers and conductor Wyn Davies joined David Morriss to talk about Bernstein, how to unveil the heart of a character in an opera production and why Candide has become one of Bernstein’s most enduring works.
1.30pm Reviews NZ Festival
Peter Mechen has been busy catching some of the final New Zealand Festival performances. He gives us his views on mezzo soprano Anne-Sophie von Otter singing Schubert with the NZSO and the piano duo Anderson & Roe. Someone needs a cup of tea and a lie down after that!
We start the week with one of the great symphonies: Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony in a performance from top Canadian early music ensemble Tafelmusik Orchestra.
