Wellington-based professional choir Inspirare is bringing Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil (Vespers) to life this weekend; it will be the first time it’s been performed in the Capital for many years. Artistic director Mark Stamper tells us why the Vespers suits the acoustics of St Mary of the Angels so well and how he has empowered his choir to conquer the work's demands. Guest tenor from Auckland Chris McRae describes the vocal intricacies of his part, including the long vocal lines that require so much breath.
