Vanessa Zigliani is manager of NZTrio one of this country’s best loved classical ensembles. At present the trio has a line-up of guest players working with cellist Ashley Brown, which this month includes violinist Amalia Hall and pianist Somi Kim for the touring programme “Twine”. It features the linear sway of Philip Glass, the refreshing new pluck and spin of Matthew Hindson, and a new commission from kiwi composer Celeste Oram. Schumann and Brahms add lashings of romantic sentimentality, outpourings from their lives entwined.
NZTrio play at Govett Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre in New Plymouth on Wednesday 8th November , at Cooks Beach on Saturday 10th November and Sunday 11th at Q Theatre in Auckland, repeated on Tuesday also at Q Theatre
