Former publisher in American Samoa moves to phone company top job

A former newspaper owner and publisher in American Samoa, Lewis Wolman, has been appointed by wireless telephone company, Blue Sky Communication, as its Business Development Executive.

Mr Wolman was the owner-publisher and chief editor of Samoa News from 1985 to 2001, when he sold the only daily newspaper in the territory to the Annesley family.

Mr Wolman is to assist the Blue Sky in identifying and developing new products such as high speed internet and the developement of private data networks.

He will also be active in negotiating Blue Sky's partnerships with companies and liaising with the government.

Blue Sky has also announced the appointment of Fay Alailima-Rose as general manager.
