Police in Samoa are investigating the burglary of a house where the former prime minister, Tofilau Eti Alesana, spent his last days.
The state-owned house, which had not been inhabited since Tofilau's death in 1998, was stripped of furniture, mattresses and lightbulbs.
Police say there was no sign of forced entry.
They believe a motor vehicle was used to cart away the stolen items from the house which is located inside the agriculture department's nursery at Nafanua.
