A cabinet reshuffle in Solomon Islands takes effect today.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Office says government has made the change in an effort to achieve its objectives.
The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation says the government believes the re-organisation will help address the various problems faced by the Solomons.
The changes include the Foreign Affairs Minister, Alex Bartlett, moving to the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation, while the Minister for Provincial Government and Rural Development, Nollen Leni, has been elevated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Other changes include the Health Minister, Augustine Taneko, taking up the role of Police Minister, while the current Police Minister, Benjamin Una, moves to the Ministry of Health
