The director of Waterworks in the Cook Islands says more than 100 homes on Rarotonga are experiencing water shortages.
Ben Parakoti says stream levels are very low due to no rain over the last month and the lack of reservoirs compounds the problem.
Mr Parakoti says in the long term reservoirs will be built but work needs to be done on upgrading the pipeline.
