The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat has released nearly ten thousand US dollars to help with relief efforts in Papua New Guinea following the eruption of Mt Pago in West New Britain province.
The eruption forced the evacuation of thousands of people from an area surrounding the volcano.
The money to help has come from the Regional Natural Disaster Relief Fund which was established in 1975 by the Forum Island countries.
