Police in the Cook Islands say they are treating the death of a 31-year-old woman in Rarotonga as homicide.
They say the woman who worked for the finance ministry was last seen two days ago but found dead at her home yesterday morning.
Police say they are still examining the scene and have yet to make an arrest.
Reports say she was killed with a blunt instrument.
The killing is reportedly the first in the country in eight years.
