A former Manu'a Senator, Faamausili Pola, is petitioning the High Court for a ruling concerning the legality of the Senate's action to remove him.

Faamausili, represented by attorney Charles Alailima, filed a petition in the High Court asking for a declaration from the Court that he is the duly selected and worn senator for District number one.

He wants the Court to declare the Senate vote null and void.

Faamausili has also asked the court to order the Senate to reinstate all the privileges due to him as a Senator.

The complainant was sworn in as senator in August.

But he was removed a few weeks later by his colleagues after a group of chiefs from Ta'u sent a petition asking for his removal on the grounds that he was not selected according to provisions of the constitution
