A lawsuit has been filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court against the Samoa based Pacific Coast Academy alleging fraud, false imprisonment, assault and sexual battery.

It is from the parents and guardians of 24 former US students who had claimed they had been mistreated while at the Academy.

The suit also accuses the Academy of breach of contract, assault, child abuse and misrepresentation.

The Samoa Observer notes that Samoa police and staff from the US Embassy in Apia raided the school last year after a secret video taken by the students was screened in the US.

The video showed students in deplorable conditions, covered with sores, and living in fear of security officers.
