Majority shares in Fiji's first private hospital have been put on sale less than three years after the hospital started business.

Fiji TV says Australian company, Mayne Health, has confirmed it is selling its 51 percent shareholding in Suva Private Hospital.

Mayne Health would not give details but said a change in the shareholding may soon take place.

The other shareholders in the hospital are Colonial Limited, Fijian Holdings Limited and Unit Trust of Fiji.

Colonial is reported to be negotiating to buy Wayne Health's shares.
