The Solomon Islands government has rejected compensation claims for the deaths of ten Malaitan men on the Weather Coast.

Prime Minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza, says cabinet rejected the claims because the government was not responsible for sending the men to the Weather Coast.

The ten men disappeared on an alleged mission to capture renegade Guadalcanal militant leader, Harold Keke, earlier this year.

Keke has since publicly claimed responsibility for their deaths.

Relatives of the men had claimed one hundred thousand dollars compensation for each death.
