Fiji's prime minister is reported to be extremely upset over the surprise visit by a delegation which asked for the dismissal of the board of the state-owned Airports Fiji Limited.

The Fiji Sun reports the delegation comprised government senator Apisai Tora and former MP, Akinisi Koroitamana, wife of the chief executive of Airports Fiji Limited, Jone Koroitamana.

The newspaper says the two made a traditional presentation of a whale's tooth to Mr Qarase and asked that the AFL board be removed.

Mr Koroitamana had earlier denied a media report that he was seeking the removal of the board which is headed by an indigenous business executive, Viliame Leqa.

Mr Qarase was reported to be angry because he had not been informed of the visit by the delegation and was caught by surprise.
