An American Samoa politician who is preparing to sue the speaker of the House, Matagi Ray Moore, says he has served the speaker and his wife and they now have 20 days to respond.
Representative Agaoleatu Charlie Tautolo wants the Speaker to return over 56-thousand US dollars which he alleges Matagi misappropriated from the Fono budget.
Agaoleatu claims that Matagi used some of the money to buy a car, and for travel for his wife.
"When you travelling and you use the funds, and you're not a representative, as far as I'm concerned, that is not right. His wife was not a representative."
