The Catholic Bishop's Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands says the greatest concern for people in the region is that leaders are letting the people down.

In his Christmas message, the President of the Conference, Bishop Karl Hesse, says those people that the public needs to be able to trust the most are the very people who are letting it down.

He says in PNG the people are crying out for justice to be seen to be done at the highest levels of the community, and not just among the weak, the poor and those unable to pay for lawyers.
